Last winter, I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Amr Adly—an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the American University in Cairo—about his book Cleft Capitalism, Egypt’s liberalization reforms (infitāḥ) since the 1970s, and sociological analysis in economics. This interview was published in vol. 46 of Hemispheres, an undergraduate journal at Tufts University. See the digital version here, pp. 107-13.
